We are delighted to share that the Hope4Kids project officially kicked off in Amsterdam in October 2025.
The Kick-off Meeting, held on 23–24 October 2025, brought together dedicated partners from across Europe who share a commitment to strengthening palliative care for children with cancer and their families.
Supporting children and families
Each year, around 25,000 children in Europe are diagnosed with cancer. Alongside medical treatment, children and their families need comprehensive and holistic support that prioritises quality of life and addresses their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs from the very beginning of the illness.
Hope4Kids aims to contribute to this important area by bringing organisations from across Europe together to collaborate, share knowledge and work towards meaningful, real-world impact.
Introduce the project
Hope4Kids is a four-year European Union Joint Action, coordinated by the Princess Máxima Center, bringing together more than 70 organisations from 23 countries.
Hospitals, research institutions, policymakers and parent organisations are working side by side, united by a shared commitment to strengthening palliative care for children with cancer and supporting their families.
We are proud to be part of such a strong and inspiring collaboration and to work together with partners across Europe towards improving care and support for children and families.
Hope4Kids is a Joint Action funded by the European Union’s EU4Health Programme by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) and forms part of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
Together, we are working to strengthen palliative care and improve support for children with cancer and their families across Europe.
